The candidates for chief of police were never revealed. Renée Harrington requested that information and has yet to receive it. This raises an important question: Are the powers that be ignoring citizen input on this crucial position?
The city council will vote on the new chief at the next meeting. But what was the selection process for the three finalists? Were citizens given a say? Were these candidates thoroughly vetted, or are we seeing decisions made to fit certain agendas?
Our community deserves transparency in such important decisions. Public involvement builds trust and ensures the best candidate is chosen.
Important question for the community.
Do you want transparency, or do you even care? Are you content with the status quo, or do you want change? At some point, you have to decide which path you want to take.
